Quit Making Excuses!
How many times have you told yourself “I’ll quit drinking tomorrow” and when tomorrow comes, you head straight for the bottle … again.
To say it’s frustrating is an understatement. We wonder what’s wrong with us.
Old Habits
It’s simply a bad habit. You’re on automatic pilot! In the “olden days,” the saying was “It takes a month to make or break a habit.”
Science now shows that it takes closer to 66 days to have a new habit set in. So what do we do with the old habit? Glad you asked! We replace that bad old habit with the new non-drinking habit and I show you how to do just that in my book “Life’s Better Sober”, shown below.
I make it my job to teach you how to get through your first sixty-six days of sobriety. And to use another old saying, “One day at a time.” And it’s as true today as it was when back then.
Thought Patterns
We have to change our thoughts about drinking. Stop thinking it’s FUN and you enjoy it. You don’t anymore, right? (Or else you wouldn’t be here reading this!)
Many drinkers don’t want to subject themselves to a room full of first-name-only strangers—I know I didn’t at Alcoholics Anonymous. Let me say that AA does an admirable job, so I’m not knocking them. It just wasn’t for me as I’m a pretty private person.
Can’t Afford A Clinic?
The other alternative is expensive. Very. I’m talking about alcohol abuse clinics. If you don’t have thousands of dollars lying around and/or don’t have medical insurance that’ll cover it, then take a shot at my book (pun intended).
You never know, it just might be the answer to your prayers. It was for me.
